If you build a PC make sure you use an anti static strap. Only a fiver and worth every penny as static can kill your hardware but is even worse as it can cause some damage that makes your PC un stable or iffy that you spend ages trying to sort.
I'm not trying to scare you but after years of IT work, electronics degrees and teaching not using one seems daft.
A good gaming PC is graphics card and fast ram. Main proc isn't the big one. Look to the games you want to play and choose AMD or Nvidia based on that. Start with single channel graphics so that you can add a second one later as needed. IT moves so fast that in 18 months to 2 years your machine will be out of date. Thus can mean that you never buy as there is always something better coming ☺
Don't rush the build take your time and ask if unsure.
