I did the same - took loads of photos - and you're right, the springs came apart easily. I'd cleaned it first - the dirt came off fairly easily with de-greasing spray and a brush. After an hour or so it looked like this.





It'll be a lot better after I've sorted out the oxidation.

I haven't taken the fast idle valve assembly off yet but I'll order the MKG100260L kit for it. I bought a manifold gasket LWF100100 with the last lot of bits & bobs so I might as well use it.


Here's an interesting one. If you need the entire throttle body assembly new it's £608 in the UK. In Russia you can buy it without the fast idle valve for 12,500 rubles or £124. Add a fast idle valve for £114 and you've bought everything for £238, thereby saving yourself £370. (Shipping not accounted for!).

Edit: Mistake above. The Russian one is MLB100590L, which is £446 in the UK and not £608. The £608 one is MHB102210L, which is for cars with cruise and traction control (I think!).
