Today is the 40th anniversary of Operation Black Buck, when a single RAF Vulcan bomber flew from the UK to the Falkland islands and bombed the airport at Stanley preventing the Argentinians using it after they invaded. They flew 3,700 miles to Ascension Island then another 3,300 miles to the Falklands, refuelling 11 times in total.

I had been hoping a TV channel would be showing a repeat of the documentary about it but seems they aren't bothered.
