I fitted extra sound insulation to the boot area of my current V6 and have just recently carried out similar work on my project car.
I’ve stuffed all the nooks and crannies around the rear wheel arch using a full bag of cushion stuffing from Dunelm Mill, then added tailored cuts of carpet underfelt to the inside of the rear wings and around the spare wheel. Finally I’ve added an extra layer of underlay below the boot floor.
It does make a difference and incidentally I also carried out this work on my late Jaguar XF as I found it to be even nosier than the 75 when travelling with the rear seats folded down.
