These wires must emerge from the loom somewhere near the CD changer as they carry the audio left and right channels. What we're seeing cannot be a dealer-fit accessory, the CD changer must have been factory-fitted.

Simon: This is turning into an epic, things have moved on. A well known trader who is no longer a Forum member is sending me the harness VUL 100310 which he says should provide the vital Missing Link. I have pulled this out from posting here

Unfortunately, and there always seems to be a downside with this, the posting lists the Alpine models, but of course mine (XQD 000470PUY) is not shown. So as usual I don't know, but will have a close look when it arrives. Fingers crossed as usual.
