There's nothing new in a good kicking. My father started in the Police late '50s in Newcastle. Remember him telling me there was a big problem with gangs of young guys (late teens early twentys), staged battles etc. The word that came from above was don't care what you do to stop it as long as there's no come back! The solution was to wait til the gang leaders were on their own without the protection of the gang and give them some of their own medicine, the problem rapidly disappeared.
