He did indeed although he was swimming round the Pier which indeed suffers from strong under currents and not safe to swim around.
The family the other day were about a mile from the pier.
They may well have been swimming round one of the groynes which can also catch people unaware with the currents around them.
The sea can be a dangerous place and demands our respect.
