I found that if you loosen the handbrake adjuster nut ,the cables push out at the shoes causing difficulty in fitting the shoes against the backplate. I wait until the shoes are fitted and the disc is back on before loosening the nut then adjusting the shoes inside the drum first then the nut at the handbrake to get around 3 - 4 clicks.
