I found the auto wipers a pain in the butt! Having had both (on 2 separate cars!), I much prefer to use the manual switch. That way, it wipes when I want it to rather than when it wants to. Flicking the switch, for me, is no hassle and puts me in control.
Auto dimming mirror on the other hand was great and I must get sorted on my current car.
