This all goes to show how the quality of material has gone south since cheap imports arrived.
As mentioned, I got a Continental brand pump shipped to me (in Australia) thinking as it was made in the EU it would be better quality as all the other pumps appear to be made in China,obviously it dosn't matter.
Due to the costly nature of fitting the pump,I will only get it supplied and fitted by a local mechanic as at least if the pump fails under warranty,they can than then make a claim to the pump supplier for faulty parts and any labour.
Seems to me it dosn't really matter what brand you get,just the luck of the draw as weather you a good one or bad one as the bearings never seem to go,just the seals.
