Each time my pump seal failed,it was never a flood of water, just a drip here and there, usually when the engine is cold at first start up.
Coolant runs down from the bottom of the water pump onto the top of the oil cooler then down and the marks blow back onto the pan underneath.
If you have an under tray fitted on your car, a small drip leak like that will never get noticed as it evaporates before leaving the tray.
Only sign is if you check your fluid levels and find small drops in fluid levels or remove your tray and check for marks or drips.
It seems alot of people are suffering the same issue on the KV6 engine water pump seals and it seems it is all after new pumps have been fitted.
The original pumps seemed to get up to 100,000km on some vehicles.
Either got to be just poor quality manufacturing across the board (most of the bits in ANY pump made anywhere comes out of China, there just assembled in different locations, or the KV6 engine has an issue re wearing out pumps, internal pre0ssures (coolant system over pressuring) caused by faulty expansion caps etc.
Who knows but keeping these cars running when costly repairs require to done then re done due to poor parts is costing alot.
