Thank you, Since you saw my cowley its now got a nice stainless back box on so isn't the quietest of things anymore. so I like the idea of drain refill take for a drive then drain and refill.

Basically you either drop the fluid and refill, run, repeat, check level and that changes the vast majority. The other method is to drop old and refil, remove a cooler pipe and run the car with the cooler hose in a container until the fluid runs clear, then Turn off immediately, two people needed ideally. Then refil, run, refil if necessary.
It is recommended they are at 40 degrees when refilling, but provided the box is warm to the touch it’ll be near enough.
