For some reason the replacement CV joint came with a bigger nut same thread diameter but larger externally looks to be 34mm and dont have a 3/4 socket for that today but luckily had a new orignal type 32mm nut in my box for that axle so job done no more clicking. Old cv joint already picked some fragments of bearing out of it and can see some bearings in there with damage so worthwhile if not a bit stresful but relatively straight forward once that hub nut is beaten.
I purchased a rattle gun (impact wrench) just for the front hub nuts. I can't be bothered to use it on anything else, tried it on wheel nuts once. To much hassle.
