mmmmm if the internal seal in the master has failed and fluid is passing back behind the seal when the clutch pedal is pushed, so fluid is staying in the master reservoir, will the pedal still sink to the floor even with the quick release apart?

check around the master for fluid, if wet then master has failed?
If no fluid found, remove cap from master and then remove the rubber inside. If no fluid salve has failed? The master does not hold much fluid and perhaps is only half full when the rubber is removed but if there is no fluid loss then again the master may well have failed internally
