Thanks, it arrived this morning - I managed to make contact with Daz and get an image copy of his setup, which I set up on an SD card, fired up and got something working on screen, with keyboard and mouse.
I looked at the settings menu (a country road background), but couldn't find anything about setting a fixed LAN IP, nor accessing the wireless settings. I need wifi and it on a fixed IP.
All is very new, very intimidating at the moment.
I'm using the kitchen portable TV for HDMI input, the bedroom portable rejected my attempts to use its HDMI - something about mode not supported
That HDMI worked fine with a Firestick..
