Really?
I would have thought that would use more fuel as it needs to reheat the water. Lag all the pipes so the only major heat loss is via the radiators, send water back to boiler "hot" and it only has to heat it a little, therefore little demand.
I am very surprised by what you say but I don't know enough to disagree.
