I have used one of those, the only difference the plug was different, so I modified that. The bottom pipe comes out straight downward, not a problem, you can swap the bottom with your own pump.

However, my pump didn't last 12 months before it packed in. It could just have been my pump who knows.

I bought a much better UK made pump for £60, which looked the same but I found the pipe to the heater wasn't the same bore. I eventually decided to use the good quality pump but mount if remotely, giving me enough space to adjust the bore discrepancie. Now this setup works a treat, just looks different lol.
