As above, the parts were only fitted to select cars between two chassis numbers. We did loads of these and also fitted them as an aftermarket item. You have to remember though that all manufacturers have an issue but iirc only Rover and Citroen tried to reduce the damage. I attended an MGR technical clinic when spring breakages started to happen and MGR were convinced it was caused by 'brake spray' that's used to clean the brakes
