The government will definitely have to go to road pricing to recoup the billions it will lose in fuel duty revenue.
I've been reading depending on your postcode if you live in a heavily congested part of the country you will pay more than someone in rural areas or less congested areas, New cars will be 'Geo-Fenced' with GPS software & billed automatically.
The new "Smart PHEV" models out now from BMW & Ford Europe have Geo-Fence capabilities wherein they will automatically change from ICE to BEV mode when entering towns, Cities, ULEZ's & CAZ's
Germany for instance who currently have the EU presidency want to impose tolls on all motorways not just in Germany either but in every European country
Expect more of the same here.
