Default DIY Footwell clip tool

Hi all.

I always have trouble getting the clips from the foot wells off:

Don't know if it's just my lack of skill of if others struggle as well .

I guess there's some official tool to do the job but I've never heard of, or seen, one.

So, I've made a DIY tool to spin them off.

Items needed:

3 x 20mm masonry nails
Old IKEA/Flat Pack Allen key - I seem to have loads
Cable tie
Araldite

1. Grind a flat on each of the nails.

2. Extend/enlarge three of the flats on the Allen key so that the nails and the key form a triangle.

3. Cable tie the nails to the Allen key using the clip as a guide. Use a bit of cloth in the clip to give a stop for the nails

Apologies for the poor photos - Phone + small object isn't great but I'm sure you'll get the idea.

And Araldite in place:

Not the prettiest tool I've ever made but it's functional.

Hope that's useful.

Andy.
