Fwiw, here are my 3 diesel auto figures.
SLZ, saloon, over 5245 mi: 43.84 mpg

NL05, saloon, over 6028 mi: 40.04 mpg (caliper sticking for a lot of this)

BX53, tourer, over 22107 mi: 42.66 mpg

All my fills / records are based on brim to brim, and that the majority of “trips” are circa 100miles on A roads.
If I wasn’t doing long journeys, I’d expect mpg to be considerably less.

I don’t think you’re mpg figures are that bad tbh.
