Default 12th National Meet 15th April 2012

Announcing the 12th National Meet on Sunday 15th April 2012

The Club's 12th National Meet will be held on
Sunday April 15th 2012
at
Avoncroft Open Air Museum.

Between 10:30am and 5pm

In 1967 Avoncroft Museum was opened to the public following the rescue and reconstruction of
a Medieval Merchant’s House from Bromsgrove. Avoncroft’s priority is to retain historic buildings in their original location.

Over five decades, they have continued to rescue structures where this had not been achievable.
The Museum now displays and cares for 25 historic buildings which include
a Windmill, Mission Church, Prison Cell Block, Pre Fab, and even an Anderson Shelter.

In 1994 the Museum acquired the National Telephone Kiosk Collection.
It contains 32 telephone booths, a stationary exchange and two mobile exchanges from the 20th and early 21st century.
The collection is cared for by a dedicated team of specialist volunteers,
and also includes an original concrete 'Police Box' which may be familiar to some sci-fi fans

Refreshments will be available from the museum tea rooms, and we have our own parking area set aside.
Once again the Gryphon Award for best car in show as chosen by the members will be presented.

We will be bringing along 'OVP' the Club's very own S registered Rover 75
and as always we'll have the customary raffle as well as items for sale from the Club Shop

The entrance fee for the meet is £8.50 per person
which covers our costs for running the event, and includes entry to the museum itself.

Please indicate your interest by posting in this thread.
Entrance fees will be collected at the club's registration desk on the day,
where you will be issued with a special ticket for admission to the museum.

The Club National has been specially organised to follow-on from the Pride Of Longbridge event held by the Austin Federation.
This takes place the day before on Saturday 14th April and has a huge number of Austin, Rover, MG and British Leyland cars and car clubs present.
The two events represent a unique opportunity for members to make a weekend of it, and will give people extra time
to meet friends old and new from the club.

As invited guests, the Owners Club have been offered a specially designated parking area at POL where club members can, if they wish,
park together. We will also have a gazebo erected for people to find out a little bit more about us.
Avoncroft is located just 9 miles from Cofton Park in Longbridge the venue for POL 2012.
