I visited our local hardware warehouse and was surprised that there were visitors searching the isles.
I asked a check-out member where the face masks were. They were previously displayed at the end of a number of rows. All sold! One gentleman purchased 250 boxes (2,000) masks.
We had local volunteer fire fighters supported by plane loads of USA firies fighting the many fire fronts over hundreds of kilometres. It is a frightening experience, the heat and smoke is dreadful - melted aluminium auto parts lie in puddles on the ground. They and the back-up support would have loved to have the extra PPE.
But now we are to receive some container loads back as a goodwill gesture.
