A possible solution.
Just been on an American forum. Key hole was deleted 2008. Mine is 2009.
Remove glove box and see a junction box. Bring forward to allow access to a 12 pin plug at the rear. Put a 12 volt supply to the pin #12 which should be a grey wire with green stripe. Boot should then pop open.
I have to go to work tonight so this will be a job for tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
