Well that was a right pain in the butt! Had a go at the rice cooker, disassembled the lid, as suspected found a broken wire where it passes through the lid hinge, checked the other two wires, they were still intact. Patched a bit of wire in, solder, heatshrink etc, reassembled everything. Switched it on, same bl00dy fault code
Everything in bits again, turns out despite seeming ok when I checked them a second wire involved with the sensor in the lid was broken, real quality design! Reassembled again, switched on, working again.
