As Trikey said, hopefully the assistance sent to you meant glowplugs (or heater plugs) & a I agree a leak-back test would be the first thing to do as constantly spraying anything into the intake to get it to start is a bad idea however, It's handy in an emergency.
Find & fix the problem, that's the best approach.
