Lets not even get into when the VCU decides it does not want to play anymore and takes the rear diff and IRD unit out with it !!!!!

If you need a 4x4, think about a Toyota HiLux. I had one and they are awesome !

You forgot to mention that the heater matrix is an Oreo cracker....

I have been a "lurker" on the Freelander forums for a while, and it seems that they have a lot more costly issues than a R75. In general, the issues you mentioned above. On the other hand, the later Freelander II (2007-) seems to be pretty bulletproof and has no special issues at all and is propaply one of the best LR`s you can buy. I think I will have a FL II one day
