Hi Alan.
Do you mean that the cam cover is leaking ? as the manifold should make no difference to any fuel being in or around the injector leak off joints, have you double checked the leak off joints as they go brittle over time and can crack thus leaking fuel in and around the injectors, try starting it will a bit engine start see if it will go, then report back to us.
