Note everyone can afford, or has space for 4 cars to cover all eventualities. Like you say the EV issue is that it's no good for anything more than a short commute. No good for touring. I'm a mere hour and half away from my parents (80 miles), soon will be two and a quarter hours (130 ish) - By ICE, by EV I dread to think how long that will take if they need my help with something.
