Blue smoke is oil being burnt.
My newly aquired and clearly neglected V6 does the same from cold - a couple of seconds of splutters and a blue smoke before it clears. I've come to the conclusion that the valve stem seals must be worn, and dripping oil into the cylinders overnight.
Unless the experts can point to another cause.
