I had a faulty SRS ECU and a soaked side impact detector.
when ecu is faulty, the srs warning indicator lamp will be lit constantly.
After replacing to a working ecu but with still a defect side impact detector. the sequence after ingnition on was:
lamp on for ca 4 sec followed by a short period when it's of (SRS test period) then on again as there was a fault in the impact sensor.

after replacing the side impact sensor, the sequence was still the same, indicating a fault (although there now is any) until you have a T4 system connected and the ecu is programmed with the right WIN number.

btw is't time consuming to get to both the ECU and the side impact detector. lot's of stuff need to come out. (center console with radio, navigator and heat panel. front seat, etc )

I found a used SRS ECU on ebay for 25€
Good luck.
