If you have or can get hold of an original spare or replacement you could try it to see if that makes any difference

yeah possibly Russ, but i think its been fitted with the wrong temp thermostat
as I said my last 1.8 was the same till I fitted the right one and It then read 90-95c but as we are having an heatwave i think i'll leave it for now
