My last Merc had the same problem, which the auto electrician couldn't sort and was baffled why it only went off at night.

Turned out (eventually) that a spider was crawling across the sensor at night and setting off the alarm. Quick squirt with insect killer and all sorted.

Yes it has - and I even found the spider! But it you lock it with the key (rather than remote) the motion sensors are disabled... and it still does it
