Depends on your mood and the sort of road. I didn't have a car until I was 30 and still probably wouldn't if we hadn't started a family.
A high revving motorcycle is a joy on the twisty stuff. You have to use the gearbox and the revs and getting it all neat and everything timed right gives you such a buzz. Here I'm talking about making quick progress, not being a loon. The same bike will be a pain in the butt, quite literally, on a long motorway journey. There is a sort of a parallel here between cars and bikes with the 16v petrol being like the high revving small capacity 2 stroke and the diesel being like a lower revving larger capacity 4 stroke. They're just different ways of achieving similar results. If you've owned bikes I think you'll appreciate where I'm coming from.
