Ros spoke with one of the Doctors there and they have said that she may be well enough to go back to the nursing home this week.
What they have said is that she won’t be going back as palliative care but to understand that the care plan in place for Ivy is such that it is geared towards what time she may have left.
All sounds a bit strange but the gist of it is that should Ivy get another infection it is likely she won’t be able to fight it off so it will then be just to make sure she is comfortable and not in pain.
I guess at 98 years young we shouldn’t expect a full recovery but at least she can be discharged from hospital and get back to some normality for her.

That is good to hear, and at 98 she is doing well to be able to fight any infection.
Sadly I can’t produce good news myself, my aunt passed away at 1:20 this morning. I knew the end was near, as I visited yesterday lunchtime with mum, and again with Fions last night. The marked deterioration in only 6 hours was very evident.
I had wanted to be with her for her final hours, as did her best friend, but I was called at 1:25 by the hospital to say she had just passed away very quickly .
I have a mountain of things to do today, first thing is to see to my mum, who is her sister, then get a key for the house and retrieve the will, and find out exactly what her wishes are.
Going to work tomorrow though as I have a job that needs finishing off.
