This is far from an impressive repair, the welding technique is........shall we say poor.

There are variable amounts of penetration to this weld, which has been caused by running backhand with the wire feed set too fast, the current set too low and with too much stick out.

To perform a strong structural weld, the arc needs to be fed into the weld puddle and not away from it, and the metal needs to be cut back sufficiently to reach sound steel, and not stuck on with chicken poop to rusty metal in the case of this "repair"

I'll give it two years at most before it needs doing again properly, a shame because you are generally better to get it right first time without causing yourself a lot of extra work
