Hi David.
You most likely know how to unplug the diesel ECM, but just in case you don't here are some photos, it may also help others if they ever have to send their ECM to one of the gurus Brian or Russ.
Once the plenum guard as been removed you have access to the ECM black case/box.
1
Next move is to pull up the case/box you may have to tug it, but keep check of any snags front and rear.
2
As you lift out the ECM you will see the guide tags on the back of the case/box.
3
These guide tags are used to fit into the bracket which hold the case/box to the fire wall in the plenum.
4
Next you remove the top of the box/case four tags two at the front and two at the rear lift those and the top come off.
5
6
With the top removed pull up the ECM a little from inside the case, pull out the first plug on the ECM.
7
The next plug as an arm with a small tag that you press in and then lever the arm toward and down to you.
8
Move onto the next plug which is also removed the same way press the tag and lower the arm.
9
The forth plug in the line is also held in the same way, but is smaller.
10
You now are at the final plug which is the same as the very first plug it pull upwards.
11
All the ECM wiring loom should now be unplugged
12
The ECM can now be lifted out of the case/box
13
Once out of the case/box you can either fit the new one in reverse order, or post it off to Brian or Russ if you need a new one or repaired/checked. Arctic
