Hi Rusty,

Yep, I had a similar problem. Like Kandyman I had to drill the remains of mine out! So to answer your questions: no, you shouldn't have to force the new one in. There's probably plastic still left in the hole. I think a light smear of Copper Ease around the circumference of the new sensor is probably a very good idea.
