A car dealer thought I was obsessed with rubber as my purchase was geared around getting new tyres fitted in the deal. I didn't buy the car!
I've got just one rule now. Always fit the best tyres you can afford.
Had 4 Avon ZV7's fitted in October 2019. Good tyres. Grip and stopping distance good.
Then the 2 front ones needed changing. Put on 2 Goodyears. Even better. Quiet, sharper handling. Only time will tell if they last long.
Decided to put them on the rear and wear out the older Avons first. Definitely different and not quite as good as the Goodyear but they do the job well.
MGTF 4 Uniroyals
MGZT 4 Avons
BMW had 4 Michelins until a few weeks ago and now has 4 new Cooper tyres. They are good for my wife's 5k per year. I'll see how long they last.
Peugeot has the Goodyears on the rear and Avon up front. I'll buy Goodyears again.
A few years ago I bought a ZS which had budget tyres fitted. They soon came off when I struggled to stop in the rain when someone pulled out in front of me. Now I avoid budgets completely. Safety is my main concern now.
I still think Michelins are the best.
