Cliff - I just noticed this fitting guide on the
fast idle valve page (scroll down).
I wonder if the 'system reset' part has any relevance to your idling problem.
Maybe it's worth disconnecting the wiring plug to that valve (with ignition off), then reconnect it and follow the instructions.
