A good quality stainless fastener will have at least 80% of the tensile strength an 8.8 grade fastener will have. Higher grades exceed the tensile strength of an 8.8 grade fastener which is likely what’s fitted currently. So provided you get at least a 50 grade you won’t see a big drop in the capacity. If you are concerned, fit two.

You could swap and have no issues, however what you may encounter is gauling of the nut and spindle next time you want to remove it. Stainless loves to pick up...
