First of all Thomas ask the owner if the car's had any work done on the cooling system at a garage. When a PRT is fitted there should be no thermostat present in the conventional position on the RHS of the engine (at the back of the engine compartment). Sometimes folk think it's been removed and fit one. The engine then has two thermostats with disastrous results!
