Makes me wonder if the clip around the rod is a bit tired. It was suggested somewhere on the forum to tie a cable tie around the clip once it's attached to encourage it to stay in position. You could try that.
Ive also found sometimes one of my doors (which I've never touched) is happier to open when it's warmer outside. Make of that what you will
