I don’t know of any way you can get this done without taking your car to one of our experts (or an ex-Rover dealer, which will cost you about twice as much – but maybe compensated for by saving fuel etc, if you can find one close to you.

It’s a bit of a process – when I got mine done recently, Terry had to take the immobiliser out (which involves removal of interior trim etc), read codes off it with a computer and interface, then code the car and the new key using his T4. As far as I was able to keep up…

I see no way any company could do this remotely.

The nearest ex-dealer to you that I know is AE Wilcox in Wickwar – only about 35 miles from Wells. Phone first and check they still do it, and how much they’ll charge.
