Here are the measurements that Ian asked for regarding the top thread ? it's not the thread that's the problem though it's the rubber that is 10mm higher.

Original as a letter J.

The height of the thread of the top of the rubber is on the original 47mm

The newer petrol mount height is 53mm

A Freelander 1 mount as now been sourced which as the same height of rubber but the top thread is longer and needs reducing by about 10mm once it arrives i will photo it against the original & the petrol one.

I will then at sometime start my own thread, in the mean time if i have time and the weather permits i will once again will fit or introduce the petrol mount to the diesel and once fitted will give it a run and see how it feels, but i prefer the height of the mount on my car to be the same as original that is why the petrol as not been fitted as of now.
