Egr bypass can go wrong easy enough, usual story the fluted area failing on them once messed with and then you need to do the bypass at the block.

I'm a big fan of this style myself. Comes with gasket, bolts, washers everything.

It doesn't attach to the "fluted pipe" and will stop it failing using the discs included to block it off and also if you wish you can block it off at the block. Did a video showing exactly how to do it. Also the easiest to refit if chosen and has a nice spot for the egr vacume line to attach on.

And then a follow up about another car which had the other style attached by the flute and was barely a few hundred miles on before the thing gave way, and had to fit to the block and remove the egr return pipe. Thankfully it wasn't the later type with the cooler.
