Fond memories of Ayresome Park and Jackie's team - Maddren and Souness and a host of others. While he was the Boro's manager, he lived in Great Ayton, just round the corner from my in-laws, where he slipped seamlessly into village life - a wander down the road to the Royal Oak, a few jars and a lot of fishing chat - no airs and graces, just one of the villagers.
RIP Big man - thanks for the memories.
