He was one of the games greats, and a gentleman.

Not only a great player and part of England's greatest triumph, he was a great manager, a real people person.

He completely turned round my clubs fortunes, ( Middlesbrough ), in the early seventies, and produced a team that very nearly won the domestic games top honour, the First Division as it was at the time.

He was a great success in managing national sides too, his Eire team achieved so much.

Thanks Jackie, for all you did. I'm sure " wor kid Bobby", would accept all of world, and domestic footballs, and all who met Jack's sincere and heartfelt condolences.

God bless you Jackie. R.I.P.
Fond memories of Ayresome Park and Jackie's team - Maddren and Souness and a host of others. While he was the Boro's manager, he lived in Great Ayton, just round the corner from my in-laws, where he slipped seamlessly into village life - a wander down the road to the Royal Oak, a few jars and a lot of fishing chat - no airs and graces, just one of the villagers.
RIP Big man - thanks for the memories.
