As the belt was broken, I was unable to check if the tension was correct. I removed the 2 parts of the tensioner - wheel & arm - and have cleaned them up. Gripping the piston of the arm with a large pair of pliers, I was unable to push it in, or twist it round, so I would say it was seized at maximum extension. I then put it in the large vice, and managed to squeeze it closed. The pliers were then tried again; I was then able to twist it quite freely, but unable to close it (as expected due to pressure). Obviously, I will replace this part.
More pics to follow shortly as I've now managed to bluetooth them on to the pc.
I've managed to source a pair of complete cylinder heads, just have to have them delivered here, and order the other bits that I need.
