Seems they do, I went to the trouble of cutting a lower section off a donor, which I had rotary wire-brushed and it looked in good condition. Cut though all the spot welds and got it off and brushed the inside too and then held it up to the light, was like a minor galaxy of small pin holes. Served as a good template for the 1mm steel that was to follow.
