Well having just changed all the discs and pads and adjusted the handbrake....300miles later a new noise!!methinks a rear wheel bearing, so I thought it might be of some help to do a photo strip..not that kind of strip!! so here goes guys.....
Genuine SKF kit( not recycled ocean liner from the East....£80.00 inc vat)
dust cap off, retaining nut unstaked
wheel back on,on ground quality32mm 6SIDED SOCKET NOT BI HEX
and 1/2" knocle bar...just crack it
unwinds easily
by the way,no need to remove calliper guide pins, just undo 2 13mm calliper support housing bolts and secure via tie wrap to coil spring, bearing housing coming off, just gently tease it, no puller required
lots of corrosion here...40,000only too!
all cleaned up, copper anti sieze and a little tip, paint the handbrake adjuster white...it makes it much easier to see in future
going back together, spin the nut clockwise whilst spinning the housing anti-clockwise
nearly there! torqueing up to155lb/ft
adjust the handbrake, this is MUCH easier if you remove the caliper as it does not dragthe disc and you can feel the shoes biting
this is interesting, the 2 old bearing races, they look o.k at first sight
BUT the inner one has a chip out of it, just next to the pencil...
